Tomorrow, January 11th, Parc at Duluth is hosting a primetime technology workshop. Residents can meet in the Media Center at 2pm to learn and practice with the latest communications technology. Since many of our residents have family and friends out of state – tablets, iPads, Skype, and smart phones allow them to easily stay connected.
As we have previously mentioned in blogs about seniors and technology, although seniors may not adopt these mediums first, their benefits can be numerous. For instance, larger screens of tablets and iPads make reading the news or doing a crossword puzzle easier for people with vision problems. Our residents often engage in various activities and events that incorporate technology including Wii® tournaments and computer lifelong active brain courses (Learning L.A.B.).
During our workshop, residents will learn how to use and enjoy these new technologies. This event is great for people wanting to become more familiar with a technology they haven’t had much experience with, or if they just need a quick refresher.
